    [despite Hollywood's "conventional wisdom" that feature film
     people are "a cut above" television people, motion picture
     legend Jimmy Stewart tried a couple of television series;
     this Warner Brothers effort was the first of the two (the 
     other was "Hawkins", an MGM legal drama for CBS); Stewart
     played an anthropology professor with an extended family;
     
     Despite Stewart's considerable talents, this effort, as
     well as his second series, only lasted one season each]
