Garroway At Large (musical variety)
(NBC Primetime, 1949 - 1951)
[this nighttime variety show originated from Chicago, and
was a forum for Garroway's laid-back personality and humor;
Garroway had been a Chicago radio personality; this show
preceded his stint on the Daytime NBC "Today" show, and
may have been one reason he was known to Pat Weaver who
originated the "Today" show]
Theme: "Sentimental Journey"
[this piece -- which was the theme song of the Les Brown
Big Band, and was long associated with Dave Garroway on
radio and TV, was the first "Today Show" theme.]
