(NBC Daytime, 1951 - 1953;
NBC Primetime, 1952 - 1953;
CBS Daytime, 1953 - 1959)
[During the eight year history of this series it
went from Daytime to Primetime (as a Summer replacement)
and then back to Daytime;
Several emcees included Bert Parks, Randy Merriman, Mort
Lawrence, and Robert Paige; Former Miss America Bess
Meyerson was one common denominator almost until the
very end. Miss Meyerson was considered the "hostess"
who revealed the prizes and introduced contestants;
She was succeeded by models Betty Ann Grove and
Denise Lor during the last Daytime version.]
[This lilting ballad was first used in the Ziegfeld
Follies of 1919, and was so popular it became the
signature song of all Ziegfeld Follies thereafter.]
