(theatrical cartoons since 1930;
several Syndication packages sold through the 1950s)
[although this animated cartoon flapper-girl voiced by actress
Mae Questal was featured in theatrical cartoons produced by
Max Fleischer, packages of her cartoons aired on many varied
television cartoon shows for decades;
after Mae Questal died, the voice of Betty Boop was supplied
by several other actresses including Ann Rothschild, Margie
Heinz, Kate Wright and Bonnie Poe;
in the earliest Betty Boop cartoons, she was drawn as a cartoon
cat with big eyes; the eyes and flirtatious eyelashes remained
along with her Mae West manner and oddly wide head, as she was
drawn in her later human form;
Several packages of cartoons were syndicated to TV
by National Telefilm Associates in the late 1950s;
the packages included four cartoons per half-hour "show"
which was called "The Betty Boop Show", but some stations
merely used the cartoons as needed in other cartoon shows]
[aka: "Betty Boop Signature";
Steiner's Signature was used in the original 1930 theatrical
series of cartoons, also heard when they were aired on TV]
