The Alvin Show (cartoons)

    (CBS Primetime, 1961 - 1962;
     CBS Saturday Mornings, 1962 - 1965;
     Reruns on NBC Saturday Mornings, 1979)

    [Record producer Ross Bagdasarian who used the professional name
     "David Seville" created a novelty record with speeded-up voices that
     he called "The Chipmunks". After the records were successful, CBS 
     turned the concept into a cartoon series. They were first aired in
     Prime Time. But after one season, had better luck on the traditional
     home for cartoon shows -- Saturday Mornings]
