[In the tradition of the other great World War II documentary,
NBC's "Victory At Sea" -- about naval battles of the War --
this CBS series told of the battles fought in the air;
The primary narrator was newsman Walter Cronkite, but for

Whereas veteran broadway Richard Rodgers had contributed a
great score to "Victory At Sea", the producers of "Air Power"
commissioned a young American classical composer -- Norman
Dello Joio -- to write scores for "Air Power" which were
orchestrated by Alfredo Antonini due to the volume of work,
and the composer graciously split royalties for the THEME
in return...Later a Symphonic Suite for Orchestra was
created and played at various symphony orchestra concerts]
