[aka, vocal title: "Top of the Evening";
Don Walker was a prolific orchestrator of many Broadway musical
shows in the 1940s and 1950s including "Pal Joey", "Damn Yankees",
"Finian's Rainbow", "The Pajama Game" and "The Music Man". Along
with Charles Sanford, Don Walker was an orchestrator listed in the
Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com) who worked on the program.
According to an article in Broadcasting Magazine, appearing in
the January 23, 1950 edition, the Main theme was sung by a vocal
group and was entitled, "Top of the Evening". Later this same
theme was used to open the quiz show "Stop The Music" during
the 1950 - 51 season when Admiral sponsored it as well.
At present, the writer of the lyrics is unknown. But it may have
been Ray Carter, who is credited with conducting the vocal group
on this show.]
