You Don't Say (quiz, hosted by Tom Kennedy)
(Local Los Angeles station KTLA, 1962;
NBC Daytime, 1963 - 1969;
NBC Primetime, 1964;
Revival attempted on ABC, 1975;
and another in Syndication in 1978)
[Originated as a local Los Angeles show in 1962 (at KTLA),
hosted by Jack Barry, according to David Schwartz of the
"Game Show Network" and "The Encyclopedia of TV Quiz Shows"]
Theme 1: "You Don't Say Theme"
Composers: music by Rex Koury (ASCAP),
Ralph H. Andrews (ASCAP) and
William Yageman (ASCAP, which lists
the name as "Yazeman")
[Rex Koury was composer of the "Gunsmoke" radio/TV theme;
His collaborators are only listed in the ASCAP Performance
Index of 1978, but are not credited in the later versions
of the ASCAP repertoire database.
Since they were producers of the series their portion of
royalties may have been shared for a period of time as
Koury may have written it originally as a "work for hire",
but the copyright has now apparently reverted to the actual
composer in full.]
