Sing It Again (musical quiz)

    (CBS Saturday Nights, 1950)

    [This series was a kind of "audience participation" version
     of "Name That Tune" using people who tried to identify songs
     chosen from the studio audience and from people telephoned
     at random at home; it was derived from a CBS Radio series
     of the same name which began in 1948; but it had an unlucky
     transition to television;

     Dan Seymour, the "man-at-the-phone" radio host, was the
     first TV host; but despite his replacement by Jan Murray in
     mid-season, the series didn't last;

     Jan Murray and the Ray Bloch orchestra also were featured
     in another musical quiz which began on television in 1950,
     called "Songs For Sale", in which would-be songwriters were
     given a chance to pitch their compositions before a panel
     of judges...]
