(ABC Primetime, 1971 - 1972) [an unusual TV pairing of the unflappable British Roger Moore, star of the James Bond films; with the US comedy action star of many 1950s movies Tony Curtis; the older movie veterans starred in a roguish adventure series about two playboys who tackle criminal cases the authorities couldn't solve; this daring casting made television history; but the series which was the brainchild of England's Associated Television (ATV) wasn't quite the US viewers' cup of tea; whether it was the victim of a bad Saturday night time slot which buried it, or perhaps something implausible about the premise...it unfortunately fizzled and sank after just one season]
