My Favorite Story (dramatic anthology, hosted by Adolphe Menjou)

     (Syndicated, 1952 - 1953)

     [This series originated as a syndicated radio show produced
      by Fred Ziv who was also a pioneer in television syndication;
      The radio series had been hosted by Ronald Colman; But by
      the time the series was to be syndicated for television,
      Colman had other obligations...so Ziv had to cast around
      for another suave European gentleman to host the series of
      stories adapted from literature classics;

      French-born character actor Menjou had been co-operative
      with the Senator Joseph McCarthy's communist witch-hunt
      and was therefore not too popular with Hollywood producers
      thought Menjou had named names to save his own skin...

      So Ziv was able to make use of the actor's talents for a
      budget price.]
