(CBS Saturday Mornings, 1955 - 1956; and individual syndicated cartoon packages originally created; for theatrical presentation by Paul Terry's Terry-Toons since 1942.) [several follow-up series used portions of this THEME, which included "The Adventures of Mighty Mouse" (Synd. by CBS Films, 1957 - 1958); "Mighty Mouse and the Mighty Heroes" (CBS, 1966 - 1967); and "The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse and Heckle & Jeckle" (CBS, 1979 - 1982)]
[Above is title as filed for copyright in 1993; BMI title variation: aka: "Mighty Mouse"; ASCAP title variations: aka: "Mighty Mouse Theme Song"; aka: "Mighty Mouse Playhouse Theme"; aka: "Here I Come To Save The Day" Although earlier Terrytoons cartoons featuring the character "Mighty Mouse" (or "SuperMouse") had been produced since 1942, in the "Catalog of Copyright Entries" for Motion Pictures (the 1940 Vol.), the first "Mighty Mouse" cartoon which includes the credit "music, Philip A. Schreib" was filed for copyright on September 1, 1944; no music credit was given for earlier "Mighty Mouse" cartoons in copyright; In correspondence with Reg Fulton, a good friend of Marshall Barer who inherited his papers, it was learned that lyricist Barer was a writer/producer for "Golden Records", the famous U. S. children's record label of the 1940s - 1950s; so it may well be that the THEME song was written in conjunction with a series of records featuring "Mighty Mouse" adventures; One version of Marshall Barer's ASCAP accounting statement lists the date of 1953 as the earliest date associated with this composition; So although the only known music copyright wasn't filed until 1993, the actual composition of this THEME must have taken place sometime after 1944 and before 1953] Composers: music by Philip A.
