Lucas Tanner (drama, starring David Hartman)

     [a school drama about a man who had been a baseball star,
      and a sportswriter, who changes his career after the death
      of his wife, and becomes a popular English teacher at a 
      suburban St. Louis high school; 

      David Hartman had been a regular castmember on TV series
      including "The Virginian" and the venerable legal drama,
      "The Bold Ones"; when "Lucas Tanner" folded after only one
      season, Hartman got the TV role for which he became most
      well known -- that of daily morning co-anchor on ABC's
      "Good Morning America"]
