The Jack Carson Show (comedy variety)

[Comedian Jack Carson had been the host of two popular
early variety series -- "The Colgate Comedy Hour" and
"All-Star Revue"; Wanting to headline his own series,
NBC gave him a tryout in this summer-replacement series
for the "Red Buttons Show"; But whether it was bad
scheduling or bad luck, the audience didn't seem to
care, so it didn't lead to any permanent opportunity]
