Hotel (dramatic anthology, starring James Brolin & Connie Sellecca)

    [original title: "Arthur Hailey's 'Hotel'"]

    (ABC Primetime, 1983 - 1988)

    [although the name "Hotel" is a common title of several Motion
     Pictures over the years, it was a novel by Arthur Hailey (author
     of "Wheels") which was the inspiration for a TV Mini-Series,
     called "Arthur Hailey's 'Hotel'." It garnered such high ratings
     that a weekly TV series followed -- and started out using the
     same title -- later shortened to just "Hotel"; The series
     was a typical contemporary anthology series which meant that
     regular characters were balanced by guest characters to give
     variety to the plots and sub-plots, set in a fictional upscale
     San Francisco hotel called the "St. Gregory"; Aaron Spelling
     produced this series;

     Late in his career, veteran TV THEME composer Henry Mancini,
     scored the Mini-Series, and the weekly TV series continued to
     use its Main Title and End Credits THEME; other scoring duties
     of the weekly series were handled by Artie Kane]
