Hector Heathcote Show, The (cartoons)

     (NBC Saturday Mornings, 1963 - 1964)

     [Hector Heathcote was a lab-coat wearing scientist who created a
      time machine -- so he proceeded to go back in time and horn in
      and add his name to history's greatest moments retroactively;
     (A pretty sneaky way to teach kids U.S. history, if you ask me...)

      The series was created by Terrytoons in 1959, which first
      distributed the cartoons theatrically via Twentieth Century-
      Fox; Then Terrytoons became a division of CBS Films; and
      Viacom packaged the series for distribution;

      It was picked up by NBC for two seasons on Saturday Mornings;
      Each show had two "Heathcote" cartoons, plus one cartoon each
      of "Hashimoto" (Japanese house mouse) and "Sidney The Elephant"]
