Hawkins Falls (soap opera)

    [original title: "Hawkins Falls, Pop. 6200";
     1953 title: "Hawkins Falls: a Television Novel"]

    (NBC Saturday Evenings, 1950;
     NBC Daytime, 1951 - 1955)

    [this soap opera (or "serial drama") about life in a small town
     began at the unusual time period of Saturday night -- which was
     in the 1950s a rather dismal time ratings-wise; after just one
     season it moved to the daytime  schedule where it ran four years;
     it originated from the NBC-TV owned Chicago studios of WNBQ-TV,
     where it had aired locally since 1946]
