Garrison's Gorillas (army drama)

    (ABC Primetime, 1967 - 1968)

[The premise was that a group of men who were serving sentences in
U.S. prisons would agree to WW II combat duty in exchange for pardons,
which happens to be the plot of "The Dirty Dozen", a 1967 motion
     picture that preceded this series.

Perhaps audiences were just tired of watching stuff from World War II
20 years after it ended, or they were tired of watching rehashed movie
plots on TV; Whatever the reason, the series only lasted one season.]
