Flipper (children)

    (NBC Primetime, 1964 - 1968;
     NBC Weekends   1968 - 1969)

    [this children's adventure centered around the improbable
     story of a Florida family and their dolphin friend, named
    "Flipper" -- because he had flippers -- it was a kind of
     coastal version of "Lassie" set at a Florida marine refuge;

     This Ivan Tors production was spun off from a motion picture
     he produced, which was distributed by MGM in 1963;

     a couple of sequels were attempted including a 1994 movie]
