The Farmer's Daughter (sitcom, starring Inger Stevens and William Windom)

[loosely based upon a 1947 motion picture of the same name
which starred Loretta Young and Joseph Cotton; the premise
of both movie and TV series was a young woman from rural
Minnesota moves to Washington, D.C. and gets a job as a
housekeeper to a widowed Congressman...in the movie this
leads to romance; during the 3-year run of the TV series
the affection between the two had to be stretched out
until the third year, when they finally got married and
were husband and wife; this was also the last season the
series was on. Perhaps the ratings dropped as the result.]
